Our Beloved Prophet... 1910 - 2008

What an amazing man!! There are so many words that describe President Hinkley - faithful, loving, service, sense of humor, friend, perfect memory, people person, direct in opinion, dedicated, hard working. I love to think about how he responded to Larry King - just as a matter of fact. He became the prophet the year Sean and I were married 1995 and passed away the year of the girls baptism. They will always remember President Hinkley. One of their favorite memories was when President Hinkley bobbed Henry B. Eyring on the head at the October General Conference. We will always remember that conference because it was the first General Conference we were able to attend in the Conference Center with President Hinkley. My mom was also interviewed by President Hinkley for her mission when she was 21 years old. Pretty cool!!! I want to listen to KSL all day long - I just can't get enough of hearing about the life of our prophet. He was just awsome!! President Hinkley has given many great talks about how we can increase our faith and dedication - I'm inspired to look them up and study them. He was truly one of the most influential prophets. I love him and miss him!!

We had the wonderful opportunity to go up to Salt Lake and attend the viewing for President Hinkley. It was an experience that touched my heart and strengthened my testimony. I don't think that the girls will forget this experience. It was an effort to get up there but very worth it.

I Like to Look for Rainbows

We had a beautiful day on Saturday, everything went just perfect. Since September the girls have been counting down until they were to be baptised - it started at 94 days I think. I'm so proud of them in their decision and what good girls they are. They are gaining a testimony and knowledge of the gospel each day. With help and encouragement from their wonderful primary teachers, the girls have already memorized the articles of faith. I told them they would have to pass them off again for their achievement days. On Sunday morning Megan asked me if the whole ward had come to her baptism - in her world she felt like everyone was there. To all those that came thank you for your support. My sister from New Mexico came up for the baptism, which was so much fun. All the girls play so well together - they were all about playing American Girl dolls. About a week before the baptism Sean and I started putting together a slide show of the girls first 8 years. It was so much fun to see how much they have grown and fun that we have had over the years with family and friends. We had to scan the first 3 years in - thank goodness for digital cameras. When the slideshow was being shown we could tell how proud both Megan and Emily were of their pictures and where they have been. Everything about the baptism was just beautiful. The girls had the opportunity to play their violin and sing I Know That My Redeemer Lives. Once again they made my heart sing.

Happy New Year!! Welcome 2008

I love starting a new year, it is almost like a fresh start or a renewal of energy. There are so many projects I want to accomplish -- I just have a feeling 2008 is going to be a great one!! It would be nice if the sun would shine a little more, it has been Canada cold here lately brrr. I usually feel all this energy until mid-January and then a little of reality sets in. But I guess I can enjoy this feeling for a few weeks. Life is good - 2007 brought our family many blessings, we are hoping 2008 will do the same.
